In-House Laboratory

When your pet experiences a sudden illness or emergency, rapid access to diagnostic test results is crucial for your veterinarian to formulate an effective treatment plan. Our clinic is equipped with advanced, in-house laboratory technology that can provide test results within minutes. Essential baseline lab tests for your ill pet might include:

  • Blood Cell Counts: Analyzing white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets can reveal conditions such as anemia, dehydration, infections, autoimmune diseases, and certain cancers.
  • Blood Chemistry Panels: These tests evaluate liver and kidney functions, blood sugar levels, blood proteins, calcium, phosphorus, and pancreatic health.
  • Electrolyte Testing: Checking levels of sodium, potassium, and chloride is important, especially when pets are dehydrated or experiencing fluid loss due to vomiting or diarrhea. Severe electrolyte imbalances may require intravenous fluids or supplements.
  • SNAP Tests: We offer quick, onsite tests for various infectious diseases, including Feline Leukemia Virus, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, Canine Parvovirus, Giardia, and Leptospirosis.
  • Coagulation Profiles: These are critical for identifying clotting issues that can occur with certain types of rodenticide poisoning or severe liver disease/failure.
  • Microscopic Examination: In-clinic microscopic analysis of blood, urine, skin and ear secretions, and needle biopsies can aid in diagnosing systemic diseases, urinary problems, skin/ear conditions, and distinguishing between benign and malignant tumors.

Our veterinary team is dedicated to guiding you through the decision-making process for your pet’s care. We encourage you to ask questions and seek clarification to ensure you are well-informed and comfortable with the choices made for your pet’s health
